Sunday, September 4th at 1 p.m.

Come to Lake View for a bike ride Sunday, September 4th benefiting the Ronald McDonald House.  The route will go on the Sauk Rail Trail through Carnarvon, Breda (optional) and stops around Black Hawk Lake.  The short route is approximately 10 miles up to 25 miles on the full route.  Ride starts at The Bar at 1:00 P.M. and will end at the Stone Piers (4 short blocks from start location) with a free outdoor concert with Josh Hoyer and Soul Colossal performing.  The band will start at 6 P.M. and food will be available for sale.  Look for our special guest Ronald McDonald making appearances on the route.  Enjoy an afternoon of meeting families who have benefited from the Ronald McDonald House and we will be raffling off special prize packages.

Full Moon Bike Ride

Whiskey Run in Maple River will be hosting a Full Moon Bike Ride on Friday, September 16th starting at 7 P.M.  The ride will head north up the trail to Red's Place in Breda.  The ride is 7 miles one way or 14 miles round trip.  Come out and enjoy the Sauk Rail Trail at night.  Please use lights when riding at dark.

DETAILS: This year we welcome The Iowa Nice Guy, Scott Siepker, as a special guest to the Rivalry Ride festivities!  Scott has an exciting film in the works and will be on hand to share some details, have some fun and, of course, bag on Nebraska…. the one thing we can all agree on!

B&S’s 529 will be open at 9:00 AM for registration, to get you prepped for the day in true tailgate style with Bloody Mary,s, drinks and a bite to eat for breakfast while hanging out with Iowa Nice Guy. The ride will start around 10:00 AM as we depart B&S’s and leisurely head north on the Sauk Rail Trail. The Angry Beaver in Maple River will be ready to serve all fans with a beverage before continuing to D&K’s 10th hole at the Breda Golf Course for some food, tailgating games and drinks before heading back down the trail to return to Carroll.  The Iowa Nice Guy will also be there after the game to hang out with us for the rest of the night’s festivities and listen to Jason Reed play on into the night.

Game kickoff is at 3:30 PM. All sponsored bars will be broadcasting the game for those of you that want to take your time to enjoy all the fun and festivities along the trail. Be ready to cheer on your team wherever you choose!

POST GAME: There will be LIVE MUSIC back at B&S 529, so be sure to get there for the after ride party. This is one event you DON’T want to miss!

This event is put on by the Sauk Rail Trail Association (SRTA) and proceeds go to improvements to the Sauk Rail Trail.

Soles & Spokes Ride/Run
September 26, 2015 - The Soles and Spokes Ride/Run is a 6 or 12 mile two person team event. Both team members starting at the same time with one on a bike and one running. At anytime, you can switch with your partner.You do not have to stay together during the races but you do have to finish together. The 5th Annual Ride the Rail returns this summer with a new theme and new date.  This years ride with take place on Saturday May 23rd during Memorial Day weekend.

Red, White and Ride will start with registration at 10:00 a.m.in downtown Lake View.  Pre-Registration is $15.00 and Day of ride is $20.00.  All registered riders will receive a trail pass for the day and a Red White and Ride bandanna.  A portion of each registration fee will go towards the Veterans Memorial in Speaker park or another Veteran related organization.

Four routes are available for riders this year:
  • White Route – Lake View to Carnarvon and back (10 miles)
  • Red Route – Lake View to Breda and back (21 miles)
  • Blue Route – Lake View to Maple River and back (36 miles)
  • Red, White & Blue Route – Lake View to Carroll and back (46 miles)
T-shirts will also be sold separately for the ride and can be purchased pre-order with registration for $15.00 or $20.00 day of the ride.

Wheelin' Wiener Wednesday's  The Angry Beaver in Maple River is supporting a Wednesday Night Bike ride every third Wednesday of the month from May to September. Come have a beer and a wiener this Wednesday, May 20th. We will be taking a free will donation with all proceeds going to the Relay for Life. For all of you early planners the next scheduled Wheelin’ Wiener Wednesday will be June 17th.

DESCRIPTION: Welcome to the ULTRA THursday nIght Ride on the Sauk Trail (T.H.I.R.S.T.)!  After a long work week in the Iowa summer, the riders of the Sauk Rail Trail like to organize for a little relief on Thirsty Thursdays.  We have two different starting locations.  In Carroll (B&S’s Bar) and Lake View (The Bar) and from those locations we head up or down the trail to meet in Breda at Red's.  We will grab some food and connect with our friend's from the North and South for a couple of refreshments. After we are done, we will head back on the trail to our corresponding starting points with possible stops in Maple River and Carnarvon if time allows.

WELCOME TO THE 4TH ANNUAL RIDE THE RAIL ON THE SAUK RAIL TRAIL!This year ride will start in Carroll at the Carroll County Courthouse parking lot  with registration starting at 10:00 a.m. and from there ride to the Sauk Rail Trail in Rolling Hills.  We will ride up the trail with stops in Maple River, Breda, Carnavon & Lake View.  After a hydration stop in Lake View, we will turn around and head back down the trail in time for the Jay Clyde Band in Breda for the street dance at 5 pm.  We will have vendors there to supply food & drinks along with ISEC Bike Shop & Lakeshore Cyclery to help you with your bike needs.  We also will be having a raffle for some great prizes so get signed up right when you get in the gate.  Jay Clyde Band will play until 8 pm then you can head back to Carroll to finish off the great day of riding.  Can’t wait to see you there!
